2. Control rules

2.1 The inspector is bound by professional secrecy

Inspectors, who may consult the operator's technical and commercial documents, including those concerning manufacturing secrets, are bound by professional secrecy. They are sworn in, i.e. they take an oath before the Tribunal de Grande Instance (TGI) in whose jurisdiction they are domiciled.

They must not reveal or use confidential information of which they are aware. Violation of professional secrecy is punishable by disciplinary sanctions and a criminal penalty of one year's imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros.
