5. Your fourth obligation: ensure traceability
The register enables you to keep track of the waste treatment process used and thus ensure that your waste is disposed of correctly (article R. 541-45 of the Code de l’environnement ).
However, for hazardous waste, simply keeping a register is not enough. You must issue and have in your possession a BSD. This document is a waste traceability form which follows the waste through to its complete disposal, enabling you to provide proof that it has been disposed of in the correct way (see Managing chemical waste
