2. Stripping of volatile pollutants

Stripping refers to the entrainment of gases or volatile products dissolved in water by the action of another gas, in effect desorption.

The field of stripping, whose effectiveness will only be optimal in a well-defined pH zone, which can be very far from neutrality, concerns sulphurous products (hydrogen sulphide H 2 S, sulphurous gases, sulphides...), nitrogenous products (dissolved ammonia NH 3 , ammonium ions NH4+ ) and certain volatile organic materials (solvents, phenols, alcohols...).
