For the purposes of this data sheet, we use the term "compliance audit" to mean "audit of compliance with legal and regulatory requirements".
A "regulatory" compliance audit is a tool for assessing a site's compliance (activities and working conditions) with applicable regulatory requirements (international, European, national, local...), in order to identify possible non-conformities (failure to meet a requirement) as well as areas for improvement.
