3. Control of environmentally classified facilities, regardless of their classification system
The inspector in charge of monitoring ICPEs can visit the facilities under his supervision and note any non-conformities.
3.1 Are you concerned by ICPE inspections?
All ICPEs, whatever their classification status (declaration D, declaration with periodic inspection DC, registration E, authorization A, authorization with AS easements), can be inspected by the inspector in charge of monitoring them.
In practice, the low number of inspectors (around 1,200) is an obstacle to controlling all ICPEs. For this reason, we have introduced mandatory self-monitoring for classified facilities subject to authorization, and a system for facilities subject to declaration with periodic inspection (DC).
