2. Plan ahead for consumables: choose insulation materials

Insulators are used when welding, cutting or cutting with high frequency.

2.1 What are insulators used for?

  • To avoid breakdown when the machine ramps up.

  • To improve heating at the parting line (when welding).

  • To cash in on variations :

    • electrode: profile defects, impacts, wear, etc. ;

    • space between marble and electrode: flatness defects ;

    • gap between electrode and material: air that can trigger an arc;

    • assembly: different material thicknesses ;

    • machine: press closing variation....
