Plastic plates, sheets or films: In the plastics field, thin materials are referred to as :
films if they are less than 500 μm or 0.5 mm ;
sheets with thicknesses between 0.5 and 2.5 mm;
plates for thicknesses over 2.5 mm.
Thermionic: Thermionic emission is a flow of electrons from a metal or metal oxide, caused by the vibrations of atoms due to thermal energy when these overcome electrostatic forces. The effect increases significantly with rising temperature, but is always present at temperatures above absolute zero. The science behind this phenomenon is thermoelectricity. Charged particles are called "thermions" (Wikipedia definition).
