4. Moving from a matrix structure to an international multidimensional structure
This structure is based on the same principle as the matrix structure, but with a permanent double or even triple hierarchical line:
a project line ;
a business line ;
a country line.
It is less flexible than the matrix structure, and its complexity can make the organization very difficult to manage.
It has the advantage of introducing the geographical dimension to manage cultures and customer proximity.
But it also has its drawbacks, as it is complex and requires a good flow of information. It is therefore prone to conflict and generates high costs.
