INTRODUCTION
In an embedded mechatronic system, how do you ensure that the control law you develop meets the requirements? Development should not only involve designing the control law or control strategy, but also validating its operation by simulation, before coding and integrating it into the actual target.
Simulation validation not only verifies compliance with the customer's requirements, but also checks that the control law functions correctly, taking into account the often severe constraints associated with embedded software, such as process discretization and the accuracy of control law calculations.
This sheet describes the steps involved in designing such a control law.
