6. Our advice

6.1 Always check for surface pollution

Indeed, the majority of failures in material assembly in general, and in thermoplastic welding in particular, are due to soiling in storage or during the previous process step. A surface tension test can confirm any suspicions.

Two solutions:

  • Use a test ink (see Phenomena involved in material assembly [FIC 0765] ).
