5. Mistakes to avoid

5.1 Don't overuse images, drawings, colors or connectors.

By trying to do too much, you run the risk of your card becoming illegible to others. An image can have very different meanings for different people. Too many colors can confuse the map user, especially if the colors are not used to structure the map.
