4. Know the country's culture and customs in terms of negotiations

When negotiating with one or more interlocutors from different cultures, tolerance is essential. There are many factors that can influence each party's perception of the facts, understanding of intentions and decision-making.

To improve your ability to negotiate in an international context, you need to get to know yourself, try to understand how the other person works and, above all, be willing to adapt to his or her needs.

To achieve this, we need to develop :

  • knowledge" (reading, listening, observing and using common sense);

  • its "skills" (ability to build relationships, communication, emotional control);

  • its "attitudes" (willingness, empathy, open-mindedness and distance).
