4.1 For the client: don't lose interest in the financial protection of the contractor's subcontractors

For building and public works contracts, article 14-1 of the loi n° 75-1334 du 31 décembre 1975 modifiée law on subcontracting obliges the contracting authority to give the main contractor formal notice to present his subcontractors for acceptance, in order to set up direct payment (in the case of direct subcontracting of a public contract) or to provide a bank guarantee, or failing that to grant a delegation of payment (in the case of subcontracting of a works contract).
