Don't forget to calculate the profitability of a laser investment. The laser is a source of concentrated energy, capable of delivering 100,000 W/cm 2 , whereas an infrared (IR) will deliver 100 to 300 W/cm 2 , and a hot-air flashlight 10 to 20 W/cm 2 for welding. The laser will be an undeniable source of innovation, provided it is integrated into a strong development strategy.
