5. Pyrometer
The pyrometer is a temperature measurement system based on the electromagnetic radiation of matter in the infrared (IR) range.
In laser welding applications, the pyrometer enables real-time monitoring of the temperature reached throughout the part or locally at the weld.
Manufacturers can offer more or less sophisticated software for tracking temperature over time and space.
High and low limits are used to classify products as compliant or non-compliant for quality monitoring purposes.
