2. What are the sources of waste?

There are 7 or 8 sources of waste in a design and construction project.

2.1 Overproduction

Overproduction in construction means using more materials than necessary. A good indicator is the number of skips used per week, which sums up the amount of waste on the site. Of course, it's impossible to have zero waste on a building site, but a larger-than-normal volume flow is a good indicator of waste to be optimized.
