5. Our advice

5.1 Integrate the "ageing of materials during welding" parameter

If you're choosing a machine for welding semi-crystalline thermoplastic parts, remember to include the parameter "premature aging of materials during welding".

Hot-air, hot-plate, resistance and infrared (IR) welding are particularly concerned. Oxidation of materials is systematic, especially if they are overheated.

If your specifications are restrictive, choose hot nitrogen welding.
