Milestone trend analysis (MTA)

Project managers often underestimate the ability of their teams to meet deadlines. However, the risk of not meeting milestones is not inevitable. There is a method that allows you to anticipate an overrun while it is still possible to react. This is the purpose of Milestone Trend Analysis (MTA). The advantage of milestone trend analysis is that it provides an early indication of whether or not the project organization is capable of meeting its milestones.

This is a simple method that can be used for :

• analyze and forecast the evolution of project deadlines ;

• federate the team through visual communication of trends;

• increase transparency and facilitate discussion of causes and possible corrective measures.
