2. Analyze trends and update the trend analysis table
The great advantage of trend analysis is that trends can be seen visually. But this is obviously not enough. You also need to have an idea of the reality behind them.
Here are a few examples frequently encountered in the field.
2.1 Example 1: Reaching the target date ahead of schedule
The first example shows the evolution of milestones over the period January to September 2004. The initial target date for the milestone (red) is October 2004. However, the graph shows that the milestone will be reached one month earlier than planned. The difference between the initially planned date and the date actually reached is minimal. This difference could, for example, simply be explained by a margin of error of 5-15% of the initial estimate....
