1. Set up the initial trend analysis table
The dates shown in the schedule on the left of the graph below are the scheduled dates for milestones that are significant for the project's progress. These are the dates determined during initial planning. Each point on the graph represents a progress meeting on the milestones; the actual situation is compared with the initially estimated situation. This re-estimation is expressed as a new point on the graph. The new point on the graph applies in relation to the update date. If the forecast date changes, the line will leave its horizontal state and move up or down. If the forecast date does not change, the curve remains perfectly horizontal.
