1. Taking an interest in open-access scientific and technical resources in the context of open science
The French Ministry of Higher Education and Research explains: "Scientific and technical information (STI) is at the heart of research activity. On the one hand, access to scientific documents is essential for conducting research, and on the other, this research is the subject of publications that must be made visible and widely accessible. IST thus encompasses all the information produced by research and necessary for scientific activity, and is therefore involved both upstream and downstream in the entire production cycle of new scientific content, whatever its form: articles, data, books, open archives, etc. ".
According to the French Open Science Barometer 2023 (MESR-SIE, 2024), 65% of French scientific production is now open access (although this percentage can vary according to discipline and research topic).
