The aim of this stage is to be able to test competing or similar products, either from specialized books or magazines, or with a group of experts (ergonomists), or with the panel of users you've chosen. In the latter case, you'll need to take this into account in subsequent tests to ensure that there is no group learning (bias in statistical analysis). This benchmarking phase can also be carried out by the marketing team.
