7. Mistakes to avoid

7.1 Don't be a vigilante

A red line: in all cases, don't put yourself or others in unnecessary danger.

Don't capture personal data by illegally breaking into an information system. Not everyone can play Arsène Lupin, even in digital form, and there's no justification for going against the law.

Secondly, don't reveal the source persons or items that would allow your sources to be identified. If you can do it, someone else can. If your intentions are laudable, others may not be so benevolent. Have a "digital hygiene", just as you have a personal computer and a computer for your work. Maintain a watertight barrier between the two. Different e-mails, different desktops on your computer or two computers.
