1. Understand the functions of bibliographic watch specifications

When setting up a bibliographic search for regular alerts, it's possible to feel your way around. First of all, you have to decide which database(s) you want to search. You also have to think about keywords and search techniques, which may differ from one database to another (search by indexing, keywords or free fields).

Please note

Depending on the base, daily, weekly or monthly alerts can be defined.

Over time, you'll come up with other ideas, or other keywords will enrich or modify an alert in a database. But perhaps you'll forget that you've already carried out the same search in another database...

Bibliographic specifications enable you to draw up an inventory of all the alerts in place. It enables you to make updates in all queried databases at the same time....
