2. Maintain your filtering target
After clicking on the "Search" button, a list of results –– is displayed. Before consulting it :
take a look at what you can filter using the windows in the left-hand column: (year, author, theme, document type, country...). This is similar to extracting references by ticking different sub-categories in the menu;
Once you've checked the box corresponding to your selection, click on "Limit to", located below "Refine Results".
You'll then see the corpus of results narrowed down to match your selection criteria more closely. This strategy is invaluable when you're just starting a search and want to qualify the corpus of results displayed before you.
