4. Technical considerations: the challenge of transport networks

A major challenge for operators today is to set up extended low-power networks (Low Power WANs), capable of routing data from objects to different platforms and with wide coverage. This represents a significant investment, but far less than the networks set up by operators to date. As already mentioned, French start-ups have played a very important role, and the healthcare sector has been one of their preferred fields of action. Groupings are being formed and are installing or announcing significant territorial coverage, which is stimulating the development of IoT on a large scale.
