2. How are software and computer creations protected by copyright?

According to Article L. 111-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code ( Code de la propriété intellectuelle ), the author of an intellectual work enjoys an exclusive intangible property right in that work, enforceable against all parties, by the very fact of its creation. Article L. 112-2 of Code de la propriété intellectuelle sets out a list of works considered to be intellectual works, including software.
