5.1 Understand the different deposit options according to their specific features

If you have an established European strategy and want to move fast, it's a good idea to file your first application directly with the EPO, after obtaining authorization from the Ministry of Defense. Otherwise, the more flexible PCT filing procedure gives you more time to define your territorial filing strategy.
