1. What do I need to apply for a French patent?

The patent application file includes several mandatory or optional elements. Conversely, certain elements are prohibited.

1.1 Mandatory elements

The patent application first includes a request for the grant of a patent, the model for which is set by decision of the Director General of INPI (article R. 612-3 of Code de la propriété intellectuelle (CPI) ).
