2. Respecting the formalities of the patent assignment contract
To be valid and produce legal effects vis-à-vis third parties, the assignment contract must still comply with certain formal conditions.
2.1 Written requirement
To be valid, the patent assignment must be recorded in writing ( article L. 613-8 du CPI ).
This writing can be either a private deed or a notarial deed.
