4. What is the scope of the transfer of rights to the invention?

4.1 Transfer of patent ownership

The patent assignment contract may relate to a granted patent or to a patent application filed with the relevant registration office ( article L. 613-8 du CPI ).

The assignment then operates a substitution of the owner of the patent or patent application, which produces its effects:

• between the parties as soon as the contract comes into force, i.e. on signature or on another date fixed by agreement;

• with regard to third parties as soon as it is published in the register...
