6. Mistakes to avoid
6.1 Don't try to pit the two worlds against each other
Exploration and exploitation are two very different worlds. And yet, you shouldn't pit them against each other. On the one hand, you don't have docile, hard-working and rigorous employees who apply the rules and are careful not to spend more than necessary, and on the other a bunch of party animals who don't give a damn about conventions and spend their time lavishly on hypothetical new sources of growth. There are simply two types of behavior that are suited to two different situations. It will be necessary and your responsibility to explain how these two behaviors justify and complement each other. Be very careful not to pit exploration against exploitation.
