4. From risk assessment to action plan

Once the risks have been identified, analyzed and assessed, various solutions must be considered to eliminate them or, failing that, to reduce them by acting either at source or on their consequences.

4.1 Action program based on a systemic approach

The next step in the risk assessment process is to identify all the possible actions that can be taken to eliminate or, failing that, control risks.

All too often, risk-prevention measures focus primarily on people, and are limited to making personal protective equipment (PPE) available or compulsory, or training employees in "safety standards". While these actions are necessary, they are not sufficient.
