ABSTRACT

Optical radiations are electromagnetic radiations with wavelengths ranging between X-rays and radioelectric waves. UV, visible and infrared radiations are thus included. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the professional risks related to optical radiations (definitions, psychological effects, maximum authorized values, method, measurement device, protection means, etc.) and lighting (terminology, measurands, characteristics of a suitable lighting, recommended lightings, luminance contrasts and other particular cases).
