1. Waste preparation/feeding technologies

In most cases, the implementation of a thermal waste destruction process requires prior preparation and/or shaping of the waste. These can be broken down into several elementary operations.

  • Waste reception and storage

    Waste is generally unloaded onto a quay by lorry, then weighed, identified, analyzed and stored on a storage area or in a ventilated pit (vacuum), which may or may not be equipped with devices to suppress the dust and vapors generated during unloading.

  • Waste preparation

    Waste sometimes needs to be pre-treated before being introduced into the furnace, as is particularly the case when feeding fluidized-bed furnaces, for example.
