3. Implementation

This section presents the model of a single satellite, followed by the constellation model, using the AltaRica language. It provides a description of the simulations and their results, which are then interpreted in terms of reliability.

3.1 Satellite model

In AltaRica, each type of satellite component is modelled as a class. As the language is grounded in state-machine semantics, transition laws must be explicitly defined. Transitions from the WORKING state to the FAILED state are typically governed by an exponential failure distribution, reflecting the stochastic nature of component degradation.
