1. Functional description of the system

The simplified autonomous drone (Figure 1 ) studied in this article is organized into four main subsystems: propulsion, navigation and control, communication, and power supply. Each subsystem operates independently, but all have strong interdependencies that are critical to the overall safety and performance of the system.
