Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)

Failure mode analysis method used to represent the logical combinations of elementary failures leading to a feared event.

Dreaded event; top event

Represents the analyzed failure scenario, located at the top of the failure tree; in this case, it corresponds to a complete loss of the drone during an autonomous mission.

Minimal Cut Set (MCS)

The smallest set of elementary events that can, on its own, cause the feared event to occur.

Redundant architecture

Design that allows for fault tolerance through the duplication of components or functional paths.
