7. Our advice

7.1 Choose the right indicators

Avoid imposing (or asking) too many performance indicators on the same person, such as the head of the metrology department, to monitor – or measure – simultaneously. It's better to choose one or two vital and important indicators for the company, rather than imposing a dozen or so secondary indicators which may be useful, but which can be monitored at a later date.
