1. What does ISO/IEC 1025 say about non-conformities?

ISO/CEI 17025 never uses the term non-conformities, but differentiates between non-conforming work, customer complaints and corrective actions.

To sum up, the standard differentiates between non-conformities related to :

  • laboratory services;

  • the expression of dissatisfaction by one of the laboratory's customers;

  • the requirements of the quality management system set up by the laboratory;

  • means of detection and improvement, such as internal auditing.

The laboratory is free to use any terminology it sees fit. The aim is to provide proof of identification, treatment, correction and improvement.
