Statistical dispersion interval
Interval determined from a random sample in such a way that a specified confidence level can be defined and the interval covers at least a specified proportion of the sampled population [ISO 3534-1: 2006, §1.26].
Supplementation
Operation consisting of adding known quantities of a substance with nutritional qualities to a food, with the aim of compensating for a deficiency or improving a state of health. For example, omega-3 fatty acids are added to foods to reduce lipaemia.
Vitamer
A molecule with a biological activity comparable to that of a vitamin, although often less so. Generally, its chemical form is close to that of the vitamin in question. For example, vitamin A has at least six vitamins, all with slightly different properties....
