6. Predicting recovered concentrations by inverse calibration

Before calculating the validation parameters, the instrumental responses measured on the samples (arbitrary unit) must be transformed into concentrations (mg L - 1 ). This is done by taking the inverse function of the calibration model.

  • Note Y the instrumental response and X the concentration of the calibration solution. The calibration model is a straight line whose coefficients a 0 and a 1 can be estimated by the least-squares linear regression method : Y=a0+a1X+ε .
