Do I have to check pipettes to the standard?
Unless your quality standard formally requires you to do so, you are under no obligation to follow the recommendations of the standard on pipette verification (EN ISO 8655) to the letter. It may nevertheless be worth consulting it, as it provides important information on how to check pipettes correctly.
How do I define the EMT of my pipettes?
Either your techniques specify a precision to be respected in terms of pipetting error, or it's up to you to determine this criterion. In the latter case, you need to take into account the entire measurement process and, above all, the user factor. As we mentioned earlier, there is little point in taking an EMT that is lower than the variation generated by the user, which is often predominant. An R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility)...
