6. Peptides

A peptide can be composed of 2 to several dozen AAs, and is characterized by an isoelectric point pI, i.e. a pH value for which its overall charge is zero. Depending on pH, peptides can be positively or negatively charged.

They can therefore migrate in CZE with an electrophoretic mobility varying as the ratio of their charge to their molecular mass with different exponent values for the molecular mass (1/3, 1/2 or 2/3 for example) depending on the model chosen
