1.1 ATD, DSC

Generally speaking, thermal analysis involves measuring changes in a physical property of a sample when subjected to a programmed (usually linear) variation in temperature over time in a controlled atmosphere. However, studies can also be carried out as a function of time, with or without a constant temperature. Numerous fields of analysis are covered in this way: calorimetry, thermogravimetry, dilatometry and many more. Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSCDifferential Scanning Calorimetry) involve the study of sample temperature and heat exchange between the sample and the external environment.
