3.1 Needs analysis based on the classification of robotic architectures

Choosing and adapting a robot for a given task is the job of the robotic integrator, who has the multi-disciplinary expertise to understand the process to be carried out and make the choices associated with the performance of the robotic architecture.

When it comes to robotic activities in large spaces, two cases may arise depending on the process area and the robot's workspace:

  1. if the process area is smaller than the robot workspace, then there is continuity of robot motion;

  2. if the process area is larger than the robot workspace, then robot motion is discontinuous.
