15.  Combined weather sensors

15.1  Definitions

Over the past decade, many manufacturers have combined various "traditional" sensors and acquisition electronics into a single device. These devices generally measure temperature and humidity under a shelter, and wind using ultrasound. Some also measure pressure and precipitation levels.

There are two types of combined weather sensors:

  • those offered by suppliers of "professional" products, who are also manufacturers of sensors and weather stations. Their cost is well over €1,000;

  • consumer products, costing a few hundred euros at most.
