4. Temperature

The various meteorological services systematically measure air temperature near the Earth's surface and up to an altitude of 30 km. They also regularly measure surface temperatures of the ground and oceans, establishing temperature profiles at depths of up to 500 m in the marine environment and 1 m on the continents.
