2. 6-port network modeling

2.1 Basic principle

A 6-port network can be reduced to a 4-port network with special detectors (in this case, arbitrary channels 3 and 5 are used for detection). The fundamental equation in microwave metrology is : $\begin{array}{l} b_{3} = A_{3} a_{2} + B_{3} b_{2} \\ b_{5} = A_{5} a_{2} + B_{5} b_{2} \end{array}$
