4. Case study: NDT aid, estimating the diffusivity of a homogeneous material

4.1 Case study presentation

We propose to characterize homogeneous material samples based on front- or back-facing responses to an excitation with a pseudo-random time profile (a PRBS). Diffusivity will first be determined using artificial neural networks and then neuro-fuzzy systems. Estimated diffusivities are compared with reference values.
